One of the most common questions I’m asked is “What clothing should I pack for Europe?” Kristen Ford is a personal stylist who can help! Not only does she have lots of great recommendations for your travel wardrobe, but she can do a closet overhaul and use the pieces you already have to create new outfits for home and abroad! Check out her recommendations and contact her to make the best of what you have and add a few key pieces to multiply your choices!
Kristen says:
Depending on the time of year, it can be chilly and/or rainy, so check the weather often before you go, up until the time you pack, and be prepared with the appropriate layers and shoes. During rainy season (October-April depending on the region), be sure to have waterย resistant boots or booties, a rain/trench coat and umbrella or rain hat. Itโs important to dress in layers; for example: A tee or tank, with shirt or sweater over, and jacket or coat. Pack in a carry-on and backpack. You CAN do it! Take pieces that can be worn more than once and mix & match for a fresh look. The cobble stone streets and stairs (many places do not have front door parking or elevators) will definitely make you regret a large suitcase! Shoes are also very important. Wear the most comfortable shoe for your feet. Heels, wedges and floppy sandals are not recommended for the same reasons as large suitcases. Youโll find you walkย more than usual, and often on narrow, uneven, brick and stone streets.ย
