The Path Report
Today I am launching a thrilling new phase of life — as a travel writer.ย Learn about me and my travel blog and why I’m making these life changes.
About Me
I have been a physician for 23 years and am passionate about my specialty, gastrointestinal pathology. It is finally time to share another passion of mine with the world- travel! Since I first boarded an airplane at age 25, I have felt the pull of exotic lands and diverse cultures. I have a nomadโs heart and an explorerโs spirit and want to share my journeys with you!
Little did I know, when that first plane trip took me from South Carolina to Seattle, Washington, what a significant role that city would play in my life. During my time there as a Naval officer, I met the love of my life, Vuong. In him, I discovered a partner in crime and companion with whom I could traipse through the jungle, climb mountains, surf, swim, sail, and experience innumerable cultures through our tastebuds. In this blog, I will share our past travels with you, introduce you to my other travel companions, and blog in real time about future trips as they happen. Iโll share tips, tricks, and hacks that I have learned by experience. I also plan to share ways that we have traveled in luxury using points and miles and recommend specific outfitters and businesses we discover along the way.
A Taste of What is to Come
I have traveled to five of the seven continents so far. We love to stay active while traveling and embrace challenges with enthusiasm. A few top experiences of our lives thus far:
- Safaris in Tanzania and Botswana
- Cage diving with great white sharks in Shark Alley off the coast of South Africa
- Hanging out with Gorillas in Uganda
- Swimming in the Devilโs Pool in Zambia
- Crawling through ancient pyramids in Egypt
- Surfing in Bali, Hawaii, and Morocco
- Exploring Zanzibar by motor scooter and jet ski
- Oktoberfest in Munich
- Hiking the Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu
Currently, we are planning a multi-sport trip to Portugal, a cruise through the Norwegian Fjords, and an epic trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. While we push ourselves climbing, hiking, and biking, we like to arrive in style. We have enjoyed such aspirational award travel as Singapore Airlines first class suites and Qatar Airlines QSuites. Iโll share with you how we did this and simplify some strategies we have used to do so.
Wanderlust is never satisfiedโฆ it is fed and grows exponentially with each new experience.
