Happy New Year friends! How is your 2025 going so far? What do you have planned for this year? No plans? What about travel dreams? Visit my travel blog for inspiration, or tell me your dreams and let me help you make them come true!

It is January 19, 2025, and we just returned from an epic Ecuadorian adventure! We started out by jumping off a bridge in Banos, then explored the Amazon jungle by day and night, on foot and by boat! We reset with a few days in civilization, sampling Quito’s food, art, and history. Then, one of our life’s dreams was fulfilled- we spent a week cruising the Galápagos Islands on a 16-passenger motor yacht, the Tip Top IV, with Natural Habitat.

The Galapagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, located about 600 miles (965 kilometers) west of the coast of Ecuador.

Here’s what makes them special:

  • Unique Wildlife: The islands are famous for their incredible biodiversity, including many species found nowhere else on Earth. This includes giant tortoises, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, and various species of finches and mockingbirds that inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.
  • Volcanic Landscape: The islands were formed by volcanic activity and feature stunning landscapes with lava flows, volcanic craters, and dramatic cliffs.
  • UNESCO World Heritage Site: The Galapagos Islands are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for their unique natural and cultural values.

Here are a few photos of our trip to whet your appetite! Stay tuned for detailed blog posts on La Selva Eco Lodge in the Amazon jungle, the cultural Mecca of Quito, the adventures available in Banos, and… the Galápagos Islands!

2025 is going to be a big travel year for us! Next month, we are cruising on the Celebrity Solstice from Singapore to Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Other destinations for us this year include Puerto Vallarta, Orlando, and Las Vegas. Who knows where else we’ll go?!
