As you may know, my husband and I are fitness competitors. As such, it can be really difficult to stay on track while traveling! We try not to travel during peak training times, when our nutrition plans have to be very strict and we can’t miss a workout. With that said, we try to stay on track year-round, rather than have huge fluctuations in our weight and fitness level. We always try to get exercise while traveling, whether that means kayaking, biking, or hiking in exotic locales, or spending time in hotel gyms. We often pack food as well- protein powder, extra packs of chicken, beef jerky, protein bars, trail mix… there are lots of options to keep those muscles fed! Message me for tips!
There are several items you can take with you to help you stay on track. If you know in advance what equipment your hotel gym has, you can bring supplemental items to allow you to expand your exercise options. If you know there is a cable machine, pack these ankle straps so you can do cable kickbacks, abductions, and adductions to keep those thighs burning. If all they have is dumbbells, bring your Bellabooty! Even if your hotel gym is lacking, all hotel rooms have doors… pack these resistance bands!
Sore muscles a problem? If you’ve got space, take along this mini-massage gun!
